The 2017 New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC) was the biggest yet, with 910 entries from 27 countries. Here’s what Curtis Cord, the NYIOOC president, said during the press conference before unveiling the best olive oils of the year:
“There are now more top-quality oils, from more places than at any other time. The data from four days of tastings by the world’s most experienced panel of sensory analysts overwhelmingly proves that efforts to make great olive oil around the world are paying off — producers in every region have answered our call and lifted their game.”
That’s great news for all of us and, fortunately, the Best Olive Oil Marketplace vendors have wasted no time stocking the year’s best olive oils. As of today, there are no less than 70 fresh, world-class oils to choose from.
It’s the best time of the year to stock up on the cream of this year’s crop.
